In this video, Anthony Robbins talks about how decisions determine destiny.
In your own life, what decisions have you made to determine your destiny? In the past couple of weeks, months, years, have you made decisions you're proud of?

We Can Sweat...
Check out this video from TED.com then continue on...
http://www.ted.com/talks/christopher_mcdougall_are_we_born_to_run.html
So this talk may be about running, and in it there are clearly some very inspiring stories- we humans really can do anything. We can continuously defy the odds that we set for ourselves, we can push past the things that we tell ourselves are impossible. That's inspiring. Think of what that means for your potential... it is limitless.
What I like about this talk, is the when McDougall starts talking about what makes us humans different- we can work as a team (or a pack) to out run the kill. Let's think about that in terms of your summer. Big armies beat small armies. You hear it all the time and it is completely true! This summer the bigger your team, the better equipped you will be with some of each kind of person to out run the kill- to go for your goal.
To sum up, McDougall talks about eliminating the shoes from running. Now I would not suggest running you're office with no shoes. In fact I would say definitely do not do that! But I would say that when things get difficult- when you are getting injured as it were- maybe the best thing to do, is simply go back to the basics!

Brush the dirt off your shoulders
The other day, on my way home from school, my parents asked me to pick up dinner from Ledo's Pizza nearby. As I walked into the restaurant, I was caught by disbelief to see one of my high school friends working at the register. My friend, Jake (name has been changed), had received a full scholarship to play football at Wake Forest University, was a straight A student back in high school, undoubtedly one of the most popular guys around.
Shocked to see him at home, I proceeded to ask why he was not in North Carolina, he hesitantly explained that he had gotten in trouble with the school and got his scholarship and football contract taken away. After calling himself a "failure" he continued to pour his heart to explain that his parents couldn't afford to pay for his education and felt that he had lost all his chances in succeeding in life and had lost all hope in a bright future.
We bid our goodbyes and made promises to see each other again, but as I was leaving with pizza in one hand, and disappointment in the other, I couldn't stop thinking about Jake and the lack of hope he had for himself. In my opinion, the only way Jake would truly "fail," is if he were to give up right now. Yes, everyone makes mistakes, yes, his mistake unfortunately cost him his scholarship and an education, but it's what we do with those mistakes that determine if we ultimately learn and grow from it or sink to the ground. If we do not move forward, it is then that we have failed.
I wonder how many times we "fail" and give up completely. Sometimes, that "failure" is the stepping stone to something greater, something better, something bigger. I know at times, we lose all hope when something tragic happens and feel that there are no possible ways to mend our pain. But will you be give up and lose all faith? Or will you wipe the dust off your shoulders to create an action plan?
We do not just have one shot (as Eminem would say) but we always have opportunities for redemption. It is ultimately your choice.

And We're Back!!
Hello All!! We'll be switching to a twice weekly posting from now on, because we want YOUR growth updates!!
Post below and let us know how YOU are growing!!!! Until then, here's some food for thought....
"You can't become who you want to be, by remaining who you are."
So, below, tell us- Who do YOU want to be??
When I think about who I want to be, I think about character. Having character is something that many people assume without ever really thinking about it. What does it mean to have character? Is it doing what you say you will? Is it treating everybody you come into contact with well and with respect? Is it having an inner sense of what is right and sticking to your morals no matter what? I think that character is a way of life. It's not simply a trait that somebody has. It is something that is molded and developed. Every day we make choices and we shape ourselves. I am choosing to be someone with character. Are you?

MMC DMD
"Technically, you can only control the activities, not the result." -Steven Covey
Every single push, the though and fact that I can "only control the activities, not the result" gives me a slight peace of mind. No matter how much I want to sell, money I want to make, amount I'd like to be able to put into my start up, I cannot do it without taking the right action steps.
The only thing we can technically control during the push week are the steps we decide to take. I think about how the people who really succeed during the push weeks are the ones constantly making calls and doing demos. (MMC, DMD!) For me (this is no way to brag or boast), if I am not on a demo, I am making calls...whether it be in the driveway of my last customer's house, on the side of the road, in a random shopping center...because I know that in a push, the only things I can have control over are the times I am on the phone, the number of demos I decide to take, and the energy I decide to give my customers when I am on the appointment.
We only have 7 days left of the push. I can only imagine what awesome results everyone could get if they only "did the right things" for the remaining days. Last year, I had a $2,000 week my first week and an $8,600 week the second. Every push happens differently...but if we keep doing the right things, the results will come.
